Paklenica National Park covers an area of 95 km² on the rocky slopes of southern Velebit, below its highest peaks – Vaganski Vrh (1,752 m) and Sveto Brdo (1,753 m). The park encompasses the flows of Velika Paklenica and Mala Paklenica and their impressive canyons, deeply carved into the southern slopes of Velebit and the surrounding area.

Although relatively small in size, the park is rich in geomorphological phenomena, diverse flora and fauna, breathtaking landscapes, and well-preserved, unspoiled nature. The variety of habitats and differences in altitude create ideal conditions for a rich and diverse wildlife population.
