When Alfred Hitchcock visited Zadar in 1964, he said: “Zadar has the most beautiful sunset in the world, even more beautiful than the one in Key West, Florida, which receives applause every evening.” It is precisely because of the sunset that every evening you can see hundreds of tourists standing at the Greeting to the Sun, simply enjoying the view.
Although many today automatically associate Zadar with the Sea Organ and the Greeting to the Sun, the city has many more locations worth visiting to experience the best of Zadar. Among them are: the Forum, People’s Square, Foša, Square of Five Wells, Kalelarga, Riva, and the Archaeological Museum.
If you wish to visit other Dalmatian cities like Split or Novalja, or explore nearby islands, Zadar is ideally located as a starting point for various trips and excursions.
